“Say OK”: 5th Most Viewed Music Vid on YT

posted by Maddie on January 13, 2010 with 1 comments

According to Music Week, Vanessa’s “Say OK” video has been named the 5th Most Viewed Music Video of all time on YouTube! How crazy is that? Congrats, V!

The US online video market continues to boom, with the average viewing time growing by 13.2% in December according to Nielsen Online.

YouTube by far dominates, delivering 10 times as many streams as its nearest rivals. Competitor services such as Hulu, however, are seeing significant growth. YouTube streamed 6.4bn clips, reaching 106m unique viewers. Hulu, which signed musiccontent deals with EMI and Warner Music late last year, streamed 635m videos to 13.6m unique viewers.

In total 137.4m people in the US watched online video last month, an increase of 10.3% from December 2008. Over 10.7bn videos were streamed in the period, up 11.8% from a year earlier.

Figures for premium music video channel Vevo were not included in the Nielsen figures which listed the 10 leading online video sites.

Figures published this week show that five of the 10 most viewed videos of all time on YouTube were music-specific. Alongside Susan Boyle’s audition on Britain’s Got Talent, the other four were promo videos.

The video for 7 Things by Miley Cyrus was the most watched music video (108.5m views) followed by Pitbull’s I Know You Want Me (92.4m), Susan Boyle (85.1m), Timbland’s Apologize (81.2m) and Say OK by Vanessa Hudgens (78.6m).

VAO’s 4 YEAR ANNIVERSARY!

posted by May on January 12, 2010 with 0 comments

Hey everyone! I just quickly wanted to mention that today [January 12] marks the 4th year that Vanessa Anne Online has been online! Yes, 4 years ago today, back in 2006, I started VAO as the first fansite for Vanessa Hudgens on the web. Since then, I watched as the site grew to be the largest Vanessa site on the web, being recognized by Popstar and Bop magazines and being supported by the Hudgens family themselves! And of course, in these 4 years, we’ve had our down times where we struggled to keep up as a site. But nonetheless, I’m so proud of how far we have come throughout the years and I’m more than excited to be venturing into our 4th year with Maddie and VanessaFan.Org. So thanks soooo much to everyone who has supported Vanessa Anne Online since the very beginning! We hope that we will continue to serve you for many years to come.

Over the weekend, Vanessa (and sister, Stella) attended Jennifer Tisdale’s (Ashley’s sister) baby shower! Here’s an article from People.com as well as some pictures from the event.

These two are inseparable! Ashley Tisdale gives her BFF Vanessa Hudgens a tight squeeze at her sister Jennifer Tisdale’s baby shower in Beverly Hills on Saturday.

Welcome to VFan/VAO!

Hey guys, this is Maddie from VanessaFan.org and May from Vanessa Anne Online! You all are probably a bit confused right now, but we’re here to explain what’s going on!   A couple of months ago, we decided that working as a team rather than individually would be more beneficial for us and all of the Vanessa fans on the web, so we set out to merge our two fansites together in order to create an even bigger and better Vanessa fan source. In terms of our site name, we’re sticking with both VFan/VAO because we didn’t want to abandon either name by picking just one, and we didn’t want to start completely over by making a brand new one.

Now that all of our content has been combined and new layouts have been made/displayed, we’re ready to officially open as VFan/VAO! We still have A LOT in store for everyone – we’re working hard behind the scenes on other site content and networks – so this is just the beginning. Feel free to browse around the site and check out what we have up so far, including extensive sections on Vanessa and her projects, and of course a huge photo gallery.

We hope you guys are as excited for this as we are!

Vanity Fair: Young Hollywood Actresses

posted by May on January 05, 2010 with 2 comments

Vanessa is featured in the February issue of Vanity Fair (on stands this week) alongside young Hollywood actresses such as Selena Gomez, Zoe Kravitz, and Lily Collins in a special spread featuring young talented actresses. The shoot was photographed by Norman Jean Roy and can be found at the Vanity Fair website. Click Here for Outtakes. Vanessa looks absolutely stunning in this new shoot and it’s great to see some new photos of her! We’ll try to get a hold of these scans as soon as possible for you all. It looks like a great spread and the photos are amazing! Definitely be sure to check them out.

Here are the excerpts from the site that go with the photos:

Vanessa Hudgens
Having starred as adorableness personified in High School Musical 1, 2, and 3, Hudgens has had a crash course in celebrity lunacy. The first time the paparazzi wanted her picture, “it was like, Oh, my God! No way! So cool,” she says. “The second day it happens, it’s like, Never mind. Maybe it’s not as cool as I thought it’s going to be.” Is it any wonder the Disney queen has decided to go a little edgier? Next up is Beastly, a modern-day take on Beauty and the Beast, and Suckerpunch, which director Zack Snyder has described as “Alice in Wonderland with machine guns.” As if girls didn’t have enough reasons to envy her, she’s dating her former co-star Zac Efron. Meet Brangelina—with dimples.

—————————-

Our other favorite Disney darling, Vanessa Hudgens, flew in from Vancouver, where she was training for Zach Snyder’s upcoming fantasy thriller, Sucker Punch. “I got thrown into this craziness of fight training with the guys who trained everybody for 300,” says Hudgens. “I get paid to be in great shape, so I’m having a blast.”

Hudgens really came into her own during the High School Musical days. “I started off as a super-shy girl, extremely hesitant,” she says. “Now I’m really growing into my own person. I can actually take care of myself, which my mom thought would never happen.”

We’ve been on somewhat a “temporary” hiatus lately, but the new layout is almost done and should be up (hopefully) at the end of this week, along with a couple of other new surprises that will only make VAO much better.
