She may have just graduated High School (the musical, that is), but Vanessa Hudgens is an A-lister on the rise. When SELF met the actress at her May cover shoot, we loved how down-to-earth and approachable she was – and how excited she was to be there! (Unfortunately, her boyfriend Zac Efron didn’t make an appearance.) Watch our exclusive behind-the-scenes footage to see what went into making this month’s cover.

Vanessa told us all kinds of things about herself, twenty-five of which made the May cover story! (Sound familiar? You probably did your own version of 25 Things on Facebook. At least, I did…) Did you know she loves snakes? Or that she wants to kick butt in an action movie? Well, now you do. And you can learn even more about this super-sweet star in the May issue of SELF, on newstands April 21.
